What do you say, we all get together and buy a better camera for Clark and set him out on the troubled streets of Mid-town Kingston, running up to car windows while naughty things are under way.

Maybe, but I doubt it would ever get off the ground. The City had a chance to set up a Guardian Angels group in Kingston, but let it fall flat on it's face. The Mayor and Police Dept threw so many road blocks that it never came to be. It would have been very similar, trained people patrolling streets and neighborhoods alerting cops to any illeagal activity found. I don't understand what the problem was, Guardian Angels have made a difference in NYC and many other locations. Would have been minimal cost to the City and would have extra eyes on the street to help discourage criminal activity.

TH-I know of what you speak. No,it's not good, but I would like opinions as to whether this kind of public interation would be helpful or menacing. Can't get KPD to act onparking tickets,so I thought they could use help.

Your right on the money with the parking ticket issue, uptown gets all choked up every day because of double parking, parking in no parking zones etc.and at times kingstons finest just roll on thru.Granted, they might assume that a ticket writer is up there but not all the time, with the hundreds of thousands of dollars (yea right)meters bring in we should have meter maids for all three districts. As far as video taping hookers and johns i say go for it,thats what kingston needs to put us on the map,our own reality tv show, god knows when public access will be back.

I think that Clark showed a similar video earlier in the year.

Mayor, Assemblyman, Senator and Governor of this great state of NeeewYawrkk

Thank GOD for people like him. He needs to visit kingston. Behind Stewarts, the grave yards, and places like that. This is the way to really clean up.

hey mike dont ask if a video vigilante would do any good if you dont want it to work or benifit kingston.if video were available when there was a hit and run in the uptown district would have certain people been allowed to go free,I THINK NOT.if people are putting their stuff on the street for all to view.then they must suffer the consiquences of either the law or public critisizim.thats life, and a good deterent.if any and all video is available then those people should be HELD ACCOUNTABLE PERIOD !!! maybe ill release my video mike to the video vigilante.

Not sure I agree with the idea...but what if something like that did happen; where would anyone SHOW the video?? On a blog?? You wouldn't get the desired public outrage simply on a blog. The best place would be a local Public Access TV show.

But we don't HAVE any Public Access station because the KPA has no money. And WHY don't they have any money? I'll tell you why...

The Aldermen on the committee assigned to negotiate the current franchise agreement let Time Warner completely off the hook. They agreed to a contract with absolutely NO funding whatsoever for Public Access. Nothing! Nada! The previous franchise called for the cable company to give the KPA about $175,000 for the ten-year contract.

From more than $175,000 in the last contract to Zero in the current one.

But the Alderman who chaired the committee did say they would reopen the issue and try to get funding from the cable company. Nothing else was heard, and the station went off the air last November.

Mr. Matson, who was that Alderman who chaired the committee that agreed to lower the KPA funding from over $175,000 to ZERO??

It was you.
