REPUBLICANS DAY 3: SARAH'S MOMENT

Matthew Scully did well Wednesday night. Who is Matthew Scully?
He is the Bush speech writer who wrote Sarah Palin’s speech for the convention.

After just meeting her for the first time last week, he did well. Sarah came off as a “Hockey Mom” as she put it, and the Republican filled stadium ate it up.

From what we’ve heard, McCain met and decided on Palin for VP just last week without much research. Since her arrival on the national scene, her personal history has started to come to light. Some of it not-so-good.

Outside of her inexperience, like I beat up on Obama for, Palin has some explaining to do regarding her climb to the offices she occupied as well as her abuse of power once getting there. So, I have to admit, I am intrigued by the first-woman VP novelty of this race. For that McCain really stirred up this Presidential race, but the unethical actions that brought her to this point are starting to flood everyone’s email box.

Things that I wont go into without hearing more proof, just as I said about Obama and those crazy emails. I do like her stance on abstinence only sex-education though.

Sarah had her big night. Alaska is now in our daily vocabulary, like never before, and the debate on ready-ness on day one has been nullified. John McCain will speak Thursday night and I Can hardly wait to see where this race will end up.

Please don't make the mistake that Obama and Biden write all their own speeches. They have an entourage of writers that try to make him sound good.

Unethical actions? How she got there?

Being in an executive office does give you certain powers. If there was legitimate reason for this police officer to be fired (and there was), she was in the right. How she got there? She ran for office. She exposed major corruption.

According to the McCain camp, Palin was looked at as early as March. You basically say he just pulled her name from a hat last week.

You should check your facts. Palin has been fully vetted and researched.

I'm certainly wondering why, as a Democrat, you are providing Palin with the big photo shoots (an important tool, generally used to "promote" a candidate) in the land of politics), and I see little or none of the same for Obama or Biden? I'm also wondering how you could be for "abstinence only" education (this includes NO mention of the protective function / correct use of condoms) with the STD and HIV / AIDS rates being what they are?

One: Obama and Biden do not write their own speeches. But people should know what the source of her words is. Scully is very slick, even when Bush screws up the words.

Two: She fired the Police Commissioner because he wouldnt fire the officerwho just divorced her sister. It was a personal use of her position and the Commissioner said it was unethical, so sh fired him.

Three: I try to be fair with the photo shots, scroll down and you'll see older posts with excellent shots of Hillary Bill and Obama and Michelle.

Four: Sarah preaches abstinance-only sex education and her 17 year old daughter is waddling around with a bun in the oven. Do you see the irony? I was kidding. Geez!

The Email crap that Mike is eluding to, has some scathing accusations that he is not using in this blog post.

Mike, you are right not to use the Email dirt on Palin, just like you avoided the same dirt on Obama.

And I cought the irony about the pregnancy. Very funny.

Dick Morris is praising McCain for picking Palin for VP. I'll take that as good for the Democrats.

You just can't fire someone for no reason. Maybe he abused his power over her sister, some cops have huge attitudes, Maybe he was using public resourses for his divorce. Very few politians never do anythig unethical, fixing tickets, getting friends jobs ect.

First, I am sure the official reason for his firing had nothing to do with the sister on paper.

Second that scum bag trooper had multiple charges against him, including tasering his 10 year old step son, and making death threats against a family member. Sounds like it would have been a good idea to dump the liability.

She also fired a police chief when she was mayor. It was because he came out with ideas that went against her platform. I hate to tell you but that is how the system works, the police chief works for her and had better support the company line. I just heard Chief Keller on KCR a week or so ago, and he would not answer with his personal opinion on several issues, instead he cited the city's (aka mayor's) stance. And rightfully so, the mayor is the elected official and he needs to have a staff that will carry out his directives as he says, because it is his committment to the voters and ultimately he pays if they don't like the outcome.

This isn’t the first time a boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him and opposes everything most other women want and need.

Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It’s about making life more fair for women everywhere.

David Axelrod has done well almost every night. Who is David Axelrod? He is Obama's speech writer who basically writes every prepared word that comes out of his mouth.

"I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibility" -- Sarah Palin, speech given at the Republican National Convention, September 3rd

The last thing we need is for Republican officials to mock Community Organizers on television when they're trying to rebuild the neighborhoods they have destroyed.

The website "Stop. Think. Vote." has an article that informs the world that Candidate McCain, after Palin's remarks on 9/3, canceled a scheduled appearance at the Twin Cities Habitat For Humanity build site. Coincidence?
