WORLD AIDS DAY 2010

Amazing to think about the decades of hell that we experienced when our friends stopped calling and memorial services outnumbered birthday parties.
I stumbled upon this video message from Bilerico contributor and AIDS activist Mark S. King. Here he speaks about the worst of the plague years for World AIDS Day. Watch this, please.

And you wonder why I got involved and served on the Board of the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Center in Kingston. Happily, there are a whole lot more birthday parties these days.

The situation for people suffering from AIDS or HIV has improved considerably. However, the fight to control and eventually eliminate these horrible diseases must continue until they no longer exist.
