Here is an ad that was featured on the Rachel Maddow show this week. I had to search and embed this for you to highlight one of the avenues we can help our loved ones coming home.
www.SupportYourVet.org is operational. This site is an invaluable resource for families and friends of veterans. Not sure what questions to ask? What topics are OK to discuss? Wonder what the different phases of coming home are for veterans? Want clarification or to talk to someone who might be going through some of the same things you and your family are? Then connect with these other families and friends of veterans through www.SupportYourVet.org.

Do you have any information on what organizations do the best job of getting the money we donate to the people that need it?
I used to give money to organizations that called me, but since learning how these call centers are keeping much of the money and only pass on pennies on the dollar to those in need, I stopped donating over the phone. This includes not just charities for vets, but in many other areas as well.
Just yesterday I received a call from a charity asking for money for veterans. When I told the gentleman on the phone that I no longer give money over the phone, he said, a bit testily, that I donated last year. I responded that I may have, but I no longer do so because the money is not getting to the people who need it. He hung up before I could finish the sentence.
