PRIMARY DAY 2009

Well, Primary Day is upon us. Registered voters have the chance to pick whom they prefer to represent their party's values when we head into the General election this November.

I guess this would be my last time to express my desire to represent the Democratic Party for the U C Legislature.

My tenure on the Common Council has been a real crash course on how we should and shouldn't manage the affairs of the people. My eight years representing Ward Nine has been a challenge and very rewarding. Serving as the conduit for the people and their government has toughened me as well as made me intimately concerned with the good people in Kingston.

I have had nothing
but positive feedback from all the people I've met during this process. Let me tell you that the weather has been a real issue. I'm sure the others will tell you that dodging the rain clouds has diminished our ability to hit every home in the district, but I have done my best.

The petition pro
cess, the mailers, the fundraisers; all of it exhausting, but exhilarating. I've built a small group of determined supporters who have been both fun to be around and a pain in the... I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have done my best to keep my race out of the posts I publish here on the Blog, hoping to keep the two separate. But this is the small exception. For those readers who live in the 6th District, I need your support. You know who you are. I know where you live!
Well, I have a list of registrants anyway.

For the rest of you, wish me well this Tuesday as this summer's hard work will come to fruition, one way or another. Is it the time for change? Or more of the same. The Democrats will have their say on Primary Day.

I have this gut feeling that you are going to pull this off. The need to change our leaders still lingers from the last general election. The need to change here in Ulster County has never been more pronounced.
I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing you well this Tuesday. Go get em!

I have seen you walking the district.

....Oddly, I have not seen either Jennette or Frank at all.

If you can walk the district now, I am sure that you will represent us well within the County Legislature.

i am from a different party in a far distant town, yet i wish you true victory on Tuesday.
You are a true representative for your constituiency & they will be better served by you than either of those other two party hacks,

1 VOTE FOR MADSEN

Mike, I wish you a HUGE win on Tuesday. I think that 18 years of Frank Dart is ENOUGH! I'm one of those small group of determined supporters that hopefully has mostly been fun to be around for you....

I have tried to call Dart for the past 2 weekends and he is not home. How badly does he want this? Bad enough to leave town just days before a primary.

I have had it with him and Provenzano both. They are stale and have nothing to offer. We need new blood.

I like the 1 VOTE FOR MADSEN idea.

Mike
If I could vote in the Democratic Primary you'd have my vote.
Good luck, I want to vote for you in November!

I have a Frank Dart sign in my lawn. I have to. Long story. I'm voting for you.

8:28.... just be sure to bullet vote for Mike.

That means you can vote for 2 people, but please only vote for one - Mike

That vote for that second person (Jeanette or Frank) could be the vote that pushes them ahead of Frank.

I know it's off topic, but I saw the Halwick kid driving his mom around again. She was doing the lit drop. Explain this.

The Halwick kid lives in the basement of his parent's home at the end of a dead end street in Wilbur. His mom, as nice as she is, is doing all his leg work. This is what the party put up as it's candidate for Alderman. There's something wrong here.

I saw you on upper Main Street this afternoon. I don't know what to say. You have really outdone yourself. You might get your chance to suffer on the Legislature after all.

8:57 & 11:32- Your soooooooooooo mistaken to put it mildly. "the Halwick kid as you choose to call him" is a 25 year old man, has walked the Ward 5 times over. He came to my house with a lady running for some other office, twice. Please run on issues not untruths.

Actually, as one of his supporters, you should be worried that so many people saw his mom getting in & out of the passenger side of the car, dropping his lit. It doesn't look good and your claim that he hit your house 5 times means he's a friend of yours. Nice try.

Halwick "has walked the ward 5 times over"? In his mom's dreams.

Clement has been to my house 3 times. Halwick: zero. Halwick's mom: once.

The notion that this goofball could edge out someone really good, Clement, should serve as a wake-up call to Kingston Dems.

Are Hein and Hinchey supporting you or are these random pictures?

Both Mike and Maurice have stayed out of the endorsement business when it comes to local primaries.
I pulled a few pictures off of my website where I wasn't squinting too much.
Hein did attend Tom Hoffay's shindig a few nights ago. So he's not opposed to supporting the Democratic nominees once chosen.

Yes, I love that tie.

Loved your mailer. Looking forward to voting for you today.

Hey Mike! Congratulations! Check out my blog - it will either make you smile - or make you want to bop me on the head...

Smile, I hope...
