GRANDMA BROWN LANE

This is a sign on Washington Avenue at the corner of Grandma Brown Lane. It was installed and run through a testing period much the same way we tested the Wall/N Front St traffic management issue.

In a few days, this sign will be gone. Although it was installed with good intentions, the affect it has on traffic during the day has been quite negative.
We didn't get the same amount of press on this one, so I thought I'd throw it out there for the weekend.

Are there any other traffic issues I should address before I leave the council?

Yes - Can you take down those stupid stop signs in the middle of Hudson St. and at W. Chester and Mary's Ave?

Worry about the budget for the rest of the your term. The rest is all nonsense.

At the same time the "Grandma Brown Lane" no left turn sign went up, its sister STOP sign on Joy's Lane was also installed, which also destroys the traffic flow. Can't this one also be taken down, since almost no one obeys it

Mike, too bad you don't read my blog. I blogged on this IDIOTIC Hoffay project MONTHS ago.

Funny thing is, I was right about it all along, and I even think Hoffay got word. The sign was initially put up in a spot, which officially, made it null and void. After I posted this observation, it was moved to the appropriate corner.

Apparently, more people agree it was a dumb idea.

maybe pave westbrook, too. what an impression when one of the crappiest streets in Kingston is home to the county Tourism Department. How's that for a welcome mat?

Joe, you should have asked me before posting that back then. Hoffay had nothing to do with this sign. Washington & GBrown is in Ward One. Al Teetsel ushered in the proposal at the request of Marvin Shildhorn.

Being in Al's Ward, I helped him do the specs, but it was their doing. How did Hoffay's name get attached?
Did the Blog posting cause misdirected harm?

BTW: Al made the request to repeal his sign legislation.

What about the move to let Schupp live in Highland? What about the fact that we have to pay for his gas, oil, insurance, and his jeep to transport him back and forth to Highland. That was a dumb move and the council should not have let that happen.

Yes if there were on other qualified people waive the 10 mile rule, but make him take his own car to and from work.

Clinton ave at Westbrook ln. The worst stop sign in Kingston. That causes more back ups than any other stop sign in Kingston. Use the red light at the other end of the plaza.

Westbrook should be right turn only. Use the red light at the other end of the plaza to exit.

We had no business taking over Westbrook Lane.(private road) we cannot afford to make improvements to that "wonderful piece"of real estate!!!!. we can't even afford to pave the streets in Kingston which gets even more traffic than Westbrook. I say, close that street and let the Aaron complex foot the bill if they want the steet to be viable. we already have an entrance into the Plaza via a stoplight at Clinton and Schwenk Dr. We are laying people off and we are concerned about blacktopping that roadway?? Not to mention that we have to bring that road up to DOT requirements. Who gets to write that check? Guess who!!

The stop sign at Westbrook is nowhere near as ridiculous as the Albany Ave/Clinton "No Turn on Red". That traffic backs up all the way to 587 during rush hour. When will someone have the balls to do something about that one?

Mike,
I don't think there was any 'misdirected' harm done. Actually, if anything, someone placed the sign in the CORRECT area of the intersection after I posted my findings. Besides, how did Mr Hoffay vote on the original proposal?

Honestly, I thought that intersection was all Ward 2. Wasn't the line, at one time, down Joys? I even remember all the Hoffay signs on Joys. Friendly's, Ward 1, Bus Station, Ward 2. My mistake, I stand corrected.

Well thank you and Mr Teetsel for one more useless sign in this city, and now thank god its going to be gone!
It was a dumb idea and there is not enough traffic in this city to warrant all these issues, I do ope if elected you start to worry about more important things.
Does anyone else drive around at 8am or 8pm?
There is no traffic anywhere, why do we need all these red light and no turn signs?
Stupid.....just plain useless and I am starting to beleive its the only thing that any of have to do, cause all the importnatn stuff is being left behind
Get real please
