WALMART ECONOMY

You can't live better with a slightly lower price and everything made outside of the U.S.. Its good for China but it is not good for America. This wealth transfer needs to come to an end or their will be dire consequences. The people who came before us did not build this nation up so today's generation could tear it down. Live better by buying American and boycotting Walmart

Free Trade doesn't equal Fair Trade.
We should revisit all the trade agreements we've made with other developing countries over the last few decades and evaluate which operate within our Quality, safety, tariff and workers rights limitations. You'll find most dont come close.

Who would suffer? Those who refuse to work here in the US. People on the government dole looking for the cheapest goods, not knowing what these trade agreements have done to the American economy.

Shame on us.

Rich Cahill Jr. voiced a great idea on his Kingston Area Public Access Show last week. He suggested (not a direct quote) that any business or corporation that utilizes factories, slave labor, etc. in other countries be taxed HEAVILY - whereas those that provide [I'll add the word dignified, just in case...] employment within the U.S. receive tax breaks.

How about it? Wallmart [the only supercenter store we have to utilize now] could be the trial balloon...

All of this stuff coming from China is really rather frightening - and Wallmart certainly isn't the only local store engaging in this sort of thing...

Iyi.

Sometimes it seems like every item I check the tag on (which I try to remember to do --- particularly with grocery and children's items...] says "Made in China."

And methinks that might be as great a threat - over the long haul - as PG's emphasis on the dangers associated with pesticides...

Besides which, when you take into consideration the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United (sneaky terminology, I think ...)
--- to treat corporations as if they were people --- you can see where we have some MAJOR problems (related...) on our hands.

It is exhausting just to THINK about what is happening in this country! But the alternative is...........................?

The retail stores didn't build up this country, the catalogs did. The death of the Walmart era is as close as the big brown van fueled by internet purchases. The Sears catalog is now Amazon. Every day fewer of my needs are met by walmart, just like fewer of them were met by local stores before I gave up getting disappointed. Just watching Walmart's shrinking inventories should spur the next dilemma; a monopoly by UPS? It sure won't be the unreliable postal service bringing me my fresh produce. And Fedex still can't get anything out of Newburgh without being "lost" or stolen.

The politicians love this - then the borrow the money back from China and give us grants to make jobs for their friends and family.

BTW, in case you don't already know (unlikely :) there is currently a gender (pay related) class action lawsuit proceeding against Wallmart. N
