CNN: KINGSTON HISTORY

When the masses make their journey to Kingston to see our rich history, are we prepared to accommodate them? It's not easy to get around without a car, so what happens when you get to Kingston by bus and try to navigate this metropolis?

Understand, I love Kingston and it's history. I want tourism to bounce back, but what happens if we are successful? Until we get our transport system to run like a real city, we will discourage return visits from those who made the faithful trip!
And those cabs! Ugh!

Doesn't look like Hoffay is going to get his way with CVS. Now who will he cry to?

Mike:
I promised that I would not discuss KPA on your site-but I have to reneg. This CNN segment on Kingston's history weeps for the return of our own Public Access station. Alderman DiBella's statement regarding The Burning of Kingston: "that if we cannot find $2000.00 in the budget, we should all find new jobs". OMG- Two Grand for a single day?

Can you imagine $5000.00 per year to continue the history of the city. I would volunteer to do a show on the history of the city on a weekly basis.

As to tourism, I again implore the city to visit the concept of Military reunions. I would again volunteer to help in this much
needed endeavor. I am also proud to announce that my wife Suzanne & I will again host the Mukden Survivors and Descendants group will return to Kingston for the third time. Beyond this single group of American heroes and their families there are so many other military veterans that seek cities like Kingston to have their annual reunions. There are hundreds of group that come to NY to enjoy their own history while seeking fun and good times. Sadly, neither the county nor Kingston appear to have found the ability to reach out to them. But believe me, they are there and waiting for our call.

Yes 9:10 transportation can be an issue within the city, but the trip is one that will give the visitor a great memory.
take care
again- only my three centavos

Its a shame the masses that make the journey to Kingston don't stay. The taxes keep increasing and now crime is on the rise again. Kingston is very rich in history, but with 1000 departures under the Sottile administration it wont be long before Kingsotn is history itself. Finkle, Murphy, and Sottile can have all the summits they want. The real problem is that they are inept and cannot do the job.

DiBella's comment really hit a sore spot, let's add to that,if the counsel can't find money to make our city safer-they shouldn't be there,if they can't keep our streets cleaner they shouldn't be there,if they can't make it affordable to live here, stop over spending, get our taxes under control,etc.etc.they shouldn't be there.we need public access back.hats off to shelly z.

It will be 1001 people once DiBella leaves. No longer an alderwomen she will sell her house and leave Kingston because the taxes are too high.

All this history and no one can find the money for a battle re-enactment in Uptown.

It is sad, but it is likely that this time history will not repeat itself.

I've been Sojourning for Truth for some time, but little to be found in this forsaken wilderness of truth.
