So what are the chances that today's primary elections will be close enough to require the nerve-racking week long count of absentee ballots? Anyone have a guess?
I think enough time and effort has been spent this year in Kingston and towns across Ulster County that voters will come out in higher numbers than previously expected. Is that good or bad for any of the candidates, myself included, or does it just simply mean more people are coming out to vote?
Either way, this city, surrounding towns and the county will continue to function
(or disfunction) as it has before.
Below is a picture of all of us running for office today.
Make the best choice.

More fraud - the Kings Inn demolition that had to be bonded so they could start yesterday - never happened?
I think I recognised a few of you in the picture. Who's the one in the tan shorts with the untucked T-shirt and flip-flops?
Thats a bernardo a rare find in this area most found in the NYC area with the clemente
Disfunction? Maybe that is why you didn't win.
Mike Why don't you run a write in campaign for 9th ward alderman. We need sanity back on the council
Mike, how about you making an effort to remove yours and Gallo's campaign signs around city? I thought there was a time limit for them to be put away. Rules are meant to be followed.
I might be biased but I am not a fan of campaign signs. For some people that is the only way they vote..how many signs they see must be the one to vote for. Time for citizens to use their brains and research the issues. Money used in lawn signs could be spent in other ways to get message across to voters. Maybe you could recruit Senor to help remove the signs. He has issues with garage sale signs and this could be right up his alley.
Senor has most of the City parks in his ward but doesn't have the juice to get/keep them cleaned up - too busy chasing cats?
Time for all signs to be taken down.
Mike it looks like Ward 5 might be Gallo's x-factor. He really pulled it out on the absentees there. Any thoughts as to why or how?
To 11:59; the fact that Jen, Nick and I were all pushing Shayne as much as we were in W5 is our best answer on the Gallo support there.
I'm proud of both Jen and Nick for their efforts, but the drive for absentee ballots on Woerner's part was remarkable.
Even with the Legislative race, both Lenny and I were pushing Shayne. Combined, more people voted against Dave than for him. So even Walker gets some credit as much as I'm disappointed with him.
That's my assessment.
I understand that every over the counter ballot in 5 Woerner is responsible for. Look's like Hayes, Ann Marie,Sumber, the Donaldsons, the Aarons et. al. made a big mistake by running someone against him. They may have won the Aldermans race by a dozen votes but they cost themselves the big prize - the Mayor's office. With the likes of those people supporting Hayes I am warming back up to Woerner! He may have just saved the City!!!
To 2:01 pm. Clement and madson's signs need to taking down. There are still lots of them up.
No story on the Berkeley pugs insidious plan to spread obesity and heart disease to immigrants and women?
Hope you crank the Blog up soon...Thanks for all you do...smitty
I find it interesting that nobody is reporting on the hissy tantrum Clement threw at the final count - so bad they had to draw the curtains to Wall St.
Good thing he won't be in charge of our immediate future.
