BOXERS OR BRIEFS?

At some point this fad of wearing your pants under your butt cheeks has got to pass. Does anyone else feel this contributes to the negative perception of Broadway?
Didn't a few towns and cities address this through legislation a few months back?
Is it worth the discussion locally?

With taxes going through the roof the council has better things to do. But I am sure that they would love to debate the issue. Cats, dogs, yard sales, red lights and stop signs. Boxers or Briefs are right up there ally.

Senors laws and rules can ban them and Landis committee can levy fines.

Thanks Mike you know they are going to address this issue before the budget and union contracts are discussed.

Of course...I'm sure he wonders why he can't find descent employment too. But if you say something you're viewed as racist. It has nothing to do with this guy being black because there are plenty of white people doing the same thing in Midtown Kingston. It has everything to do with these people looking like scumbags, hanging on the corner, and doing nothing of value with their lives. But it's societies fault I forgot. Too some extent it is, but there comes a point where everyone has to take responsibility for the situations they're in. The "thug life" population of Kingston by and large are not.

The council should be working on the union contracts not stupid stuff like this. The union hid behind the contract and would not negotiate. Now the contract is open and the bargaining should begin.

It was reported in the papers that rank and file wanted to give back to save jobs and CSEA would not let them. I wonder how they feel now.

6:20 But isn't it the way it works is that the Unions fight for raises and better benefits regarless if it means the loss of jobs because they know right now we are going through an economic downturn so government is contracting meaning the loss of jobs anyways. But once the economy turns around the government will have more revenue coming in and will begin hireing again but they will have to do so at higher wages and still for the same benefits. Once you give something up it is gone so unless they are putting guaranteed raises off until the future the Union wouldn't be willing to give up anything substantial regardless of the loss of jobs. Plus its all by seniority so it's last in first out and we all know if you are at the negotiating table you are not someone with only a few years in. So to answer your question they probably feel fine.

Of course you're all right. Creating this post merely previewed what ridiculous issue the Common Council will champion before addressing the heart of the city's problems. Since I left, they have fought over cats, gazebos, yard sales and installed two stop signs in Ward Nine.

I really hope we didn't appear as childish while I was Alderman. Please say we weren't. It's embarrassing.

This is one "fashion trend" that has stayed way too long! And WHY?? It can't be comfortable.

You were a great alderman Mike. You fought hard for the meters and it was the right thing to do. They should be putting meters in all City parking lots now.

This council is afraid of taking on the tough issues. The firemens contract is bankrupting the City and needs to be dealt with. This council will just push it off till next year. Hopefully Charlie Landi will be gone.

11:27 You have not seen the State CSEA contract have you. They gave away the farm and the members approved it. These are tough times and CSEA leadership and rank and file recognizes that.

Three stop signs in ward 9, Mike...and it only took four years to do so. You only relay a part of the story, negating if you must comment on it - on how hard we worked to show the need for traffic calming here. In lieu of making the street one way, or for Kingston to do a proper traffic study, this is all we had to work with. Completely changed the neighborhood for the better.

Wasn't this fashion craze(pants below the butt) a prison trend. if so, the wearers are buying into prison is Ok if it has to be that way. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck....
I cannot get a job. Duh!!!
Personally, as a female, it is a BIG turnoff. DOn't need to see your skanky underwear plus how pairs of sneakers do you wear out shuffling to keep the pants in that position.?
